Good morning! We still have no major news from the Middle East—posturing and negotiations are ongoing. More interesting signals are coming from the Ukraine war as both Russia and Ukraine have escalating activity in recent weeks.
Moving on, the market on Venezuela recognizing Israel crashed to new lows after reaching almost 80%. We then briefly cover Nigel Farage’s by-election before we turn to tech and comment on the recent news about Anthropic and how they influenced prediction markets.
Let’s take a look at the markets to make sense of the news!

Main Events Of The Day
#1 The Strait of Hormuz
Trade Strait of Hormuz Traffic on Stand
We continue to be in the dark when it comes to any developments in the Strait of Hormuz. Traffic stalled, but both commodities and prediction-market traders are hopeful to see progress soon and keep the prices flat:
In the meantime, both sides appear to signal that they are ready for a longer confrontation:
For now, traders see it as an escalate-to-deescalate strategy. However, without a signal soon, the markets could reprice probability rapidly.
#2 Ukraine War
Trade NATO Downs Another Russian Drone by…? on Stand
The Ukraine war has been escalating recently and pretty soon it might end up at the top of the news cycle. The market on NATO downing another Russian drone is extremely volatile as every other night we have a close incident. Only hours ago a drone was shot over Latvia as a result of “Russian electronic warfare”.
Ukraine is also on the offense—it has been targeting oil infrastructure, Wildberries warehouses and Moscow itself in recent weeks:

#3 No Recognition After All?
Trade Venezuela to Recognize Israel on Stand
Leaving the wars behind, the market on Venezuela recognizing Israel crashed after a Polymarket clarification established that resuming consular services is not sufficient to resolve the market.
However, the price may have fallen too low—it’s definitely a step forward that should increase the chance of formal recognition down the line.
#4 A Joke of an Election
Trade Clacton By-Election on Stand
In the UK, Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, won his self-induced by-election with Count Binface.
Traders had no doubt about the outcome. However, the margin of victory was slimmer than expected. Early projections put the margin of victory at 60%+. The election ended with 63% vs 27%, which Farage himself called “humiliating”.
#5 Anthropic Bigger Than Bitcoin?
Trade Will Anthropic Flip BTC by December 31 on Stand
Lastly, an interesting market at the intersection of tech and finance. FT revealed that Anthropic is looking to beat all-time records and wants investors to bet on a $2 trillion valuation. That would put its valuation above BTC’s market cap, which currently sits at $1.26 trillion.
Only a couple of months ago, in late May, Anthropic closed a Series H with a $965 billion post-money valuation—it’s not shocking that traders were caught by surprise.
I can only say that the spectacular rise of Anthropic in 2026 will be studied for decades. For many reasons.
